英国的缩写为什么是“GBR”？前面的G代表什么？

英国全称 United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 大不列颠及北尓尔兰联合王国。 简称UK 而在北京奥运会使用的GBR表示英国，也许是英国奥委会或者国际奥委会的决定。 而原因也许就是北爱尔兰（Northern Ireland）拒绝联合组队参加奥运会的足球比赛。也许北爱尔兰没有派人来参加。 所以不叫UK改叫GBR（GBR是不包括Northern Ireland的)
